femmelectric is a genre nonconformist who seeks to create dynamic, beat-forward soundtracks that elevate vibrations, inspire movement, and challenge listeners to sonic exploration. While she tends to transcend a single mood, genre, or era; her recent spins include many flavors of house; especially those fused with global rhythms, electro, and downtempo. femmelectric has played in many of San Francisco’s most beloved venues such as F8, 1015 Folsom, The Great Northern, and Public Works, and shared bills with Shiba San, Tokimonsta, Tycho, and Nightmares on Wax.
femmelectric hosts a monthly open decks party—Open House—that creates space for emerging and veteran DJs and co-produces a monthly collaborative leaning and community-building event called Cued Up: A Community Exchange for DJs & Producers.
femmelectric is committed to elevating womxn in electronic music. She formed a multi-genre collective—Femmes Afire—that showcases 4 DJs who collectively play hip hop, disco, house, techno, and drum-n-bass. She has organized two successive fundraisers for International Women’s Day, in 2018 and 2019. Lineups featured diverse bay area womxn DJs and producers.
